2. A LOVE WITH NO ENDING

STORY:

A couple of years ago, I started working as a part time music therapist at a Depression Recovery clinic in Weimar, California. It was raining one day, skies were gray, a chilly bite in the air - when the thought crossed my mind, “I should write the most depressing song in the world. Depressing love songs are hits!”

I started writing the song, thinking about showing love to people in ways that they would receive it - and as the lyrics unfolded, the tune that came out was the complete opposite of my original intent.

Instead, a cheesy 70s game show melody appeared! But I have to say, this is one of my personal favorite songs.

How could I write about God’s love, which is really, THE “Love that has no Ending,” in a somber and depressed way?

So, here it is.

VERSE 1:

There’s a place inside everybody’s soul

Where they try to hide,

So tired of playing the role

Beat down and scared, feeling all alone

Holding on to the fear,

Of a great unknown

Seeking for love, and

Seeking for rest, and

Seeking for hope

CHORUS:

Where do they go?

Who do they run to?

What do you say?

How do you show?

A love that is real

A love with on ending

What do you say?

How do you show?

Something they can understand

Something they can feel

A love with no ending

A love that is real

A love with no ending

A love that is real

VERSE 2:

People look for love,

In many different ways

Through a hug from a friend,

Or some food on a tray

But I know for sure, of a love that can fill

More real than words on a page,

Of His death on a hill

He is Love (He is Love)

He is Peace (He is Peace)

He is Hope (He is Hope)

He is Real (He is Real)

He is a Love with no ending

CHORUS:

Where do they go?

Who do they run to?

What do you say?

How do you show?

A love that is real

A love with no ending

What do you say?

How do you show?

Something they can understand

Something they can feel

A love with no ending

A love that is real

A love with no ending

A love that is real

INTERULUDE

CHORUS:

Where do they go?

Who do they run to?

What do you say?

How do you show?

A love that is real

A love with no ending

What do you say?

How do you show?

Something they can understand

Something they can feel

A love with no ending

A love that is real

A love with no ending

A love that is real

A love with no ending

A love that is real

A love with no ending

A love that is real
